Patient fans of Pennsylvania’s East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Co. were rewarded in July and August as Accucraft Co. of Union City, Calif., delivered its 1:20.3 scale version of the line’s No. 12 in live steam. Many hobbyists said they had waited four years after ordering the locomotive.

The model is based on a narrow-gauge 2-8-2 Mikado built in 1911 by Baldwin and is available in both lettered and unlettered versions. The company has decorated the No. 12 lettered version as the locomotive runs today on the heritage railroad that runs in Rockhill Furnace, Pa.

A review of Accucraft’s EBT No. 12, which the company says is limited to 40 units that will retail for $3500, will be forthcoming in a future issue of Steam in the Garden.

Accucraft has also started delivering the Pennsylvania K-4, a 4-6-2 live-steam locomotive that has been developed in 1:29 scale.

The company is offering the K-4 in both pre-World War II and post-war liveries with appropriate locomotive numberings. The pre-war colors are dark green and Tuscan red, while the post-war color is dark green.

The K-4 locomotives will have a variety of options, which can raise the base price of $2900 to $3233.
